Strengthening Families

Your prayer and support empowers lasting change that breaks cycles of poverty and abuse. March marked 16 years since the Children’s Home began. “I accidentally started a Children’s Home” were Thomas’ words to his friends at the time, but this work is no accident. We see God’s hand all through the years leading us to children who needed help most, providing for their care, and bringing you alongside to partner with us.

We just celebrated little Lawrence’s 4th birthday, but Lawrence is not one of the Children’s Home kids. He lives with his loving father, mother, and older brother as God designed. His parents provide well for him and gave him this snazzy suit for his birthday. Most importantly they teach him about Jesus. Lawrence’s mother, Bagasree, was among the first children in 2006 who sought refuge at the Children’s Home as a pre-teen. Now she and her husband, Suniel, are also a part of this work. Suniel works as a carpenter and maintenance man at the farm and new building. Bagasree helps with outreach efforts and caring for children. Lawrence is the youngest of their two boys. He’s smart and funny. He likes to race toy cars. He and our youngest daughter, Satya, have a great time playing together.

We’re thankful that our families get to do life and ministry together. Thomas and I are like an uncle and aunt to their boys and they likewise for our girls. Their family is a beautiful example of our long-term goals for children at the Children’s Home – that these current children grow up to love God, love their families, and bless their community. So we Your people and the sheep of Your pasture will give thanks to You forever; to all generations we will tell of Your praise. Psalm 79:13  Isn’t it incredible to think that when God first intervened on Thomas’ behalf, that He also had Bagasree, Lawrence, and many more children in mind?! May we follow whole-heartedly as He writes His redemption stories here.
